January 2009 New acoustic record Walking Away From Wonderland to be released Singer/songwriter David W. Jacobsen will release his newest album, Walking Away From Wonderland, on Feb 7, 2008 at the Lamp Post Bar & Grille in Jersey City. The album has an alt-folk bent with both serious and more quirky numbers. Many of the songs deal with losing touch as the years go by with friends, lovers, or yourself. Some of the loss is humorously described in the form of break up songs where the narrator is happy the other person is gone. Others express longing for people, places, and times that are forever out of reach. However, not all of the songs adhere to this central theme and the album's content and mood vary considerably. March 2006 "Christmas in Jersey City" received an honor award in the Great American Song Contest David W. Jacobsen's song "Christmas in Jersey City" received an honor award in the "Special Music category" of the 7th Annual Great American Song Contest. This category encompassed children's, christmas, patriotic, and novelty songs. The song can be downloaded from here. January 2006 Footprints voted top 10 album of 2006 David W.
